Winterfell’s not in the South," Jon objected.
“Yes it is. Everything below the Wall’s south to us.”
He had never thought of it that way. “I suppose it’s all in where you’re standing.”
“Aye,” Ygritte agreed. “It always is.

Jon - A Clash of Kings

In which Jon Snow takes an enemy captive, and immediately proceeds to listen to one of her folk tales and see things from her perspective

(via ygrittekissedbyfire)

"You know nothing, Jon Snow" isn’t just a funny meme about Jon being stupid. It’s Ygritte telling him he doesn’t know things, and Jon caring enough to learn, and to incorporate what he learns into his worldview. Jon’s one of the few men in Westeros to consider what a woman would think/do before he makes decisions. This happens all throughout his chapters in ADWD, where he talks to her in his head. "They know nothing, Ygritte. And worse, they will not learn."

What the eff Sailor Moon Crystal? Thoughts on Usagi’s Face

sjsindu:

Usagi’s face in the original anime was a wonderful, squishy arena of comedic awesomeness. But in the new Sailor Moon Crystal, her face is pretty, ALL THE TIME.

No one’s face is pretty all the time. Even though Crystal follows the manga frame for frame, it pretty-fies the funny faces in the manga.

It’s important for young girls to know that being pretty does not outweigh expressing their emotions, or being funny. MAKE FUNNY FACES.

I personally think it just has to do with the times back when the original anime was made overtly exaggerated faces and expression was the popular thing. Look at any anime from the 90’s and the expressions she makes were very common even for series weren’t purely comedy. However now Japanese animation has started to go away from that facial gags have changed and they tend to use it less now and in different ways. I think its just the general public of Japan finds it less humorous now or they just want Salior Moon to have a more serious tone. I don’t know I’m not Japanese it’s just something I’ve noticed watching anime over the years.

I mean just look at any reboot done over here in the west. From Thundercats to Scooby Doo the latest remakes look far different from their origins simply because that style is no longer desired. Even certain gags have been omitted such as bribing Scooby with Scooby snacks or Snarf saying snarf as he talks, becuase they are no longer funny to the new generation or their target audience. And just like those reboots Sailor Moon is no different while yes they know old fans are looking forawrd to this its the new fans, the new generation so they go with a newer look that’s more in style to draw them in. Really it just comes down to how the times have changed things and wanting to appeal to more people. at least thats what I think.

I just realize in all it’s years Disney animated movies have never focused on the relationship between a bother and sister. Yes they have had movies on brothers (brother bear) and sisters (lilo & stitch and frozen) but never a pair of opposite gender siblings. Even when the sibling is minor the only movie to actually have siblings who aren’t the same gender is Peter Pan and the relationship between the siblings is only slightly touched upon during the movie.

Its actually really sad they haven’t had one yet considering there are a lot of fairytales where the main characters are brother and sister. Hansel and Gretel, the Juniper Tree, Bluebeard, The Six Swans, Little Sister and Little Brother, to name a few. Its really odd.
